Country Boy?

These spiders are suddenly very common here. They are tiny, about the right size to eat mosquitoes, so I am trying to help them out when I see them.

At the other side of my apartment building, some of the Taiwanese girls were screaming, and a Taiwanese guy was poking at something on the ground with his umbrella. I walked over, expecting something like a mouse from their response, but it was a baby lizard. I said “かわいい”, (Cute…), and picked it up. Everyone looked at me like I was crazy. The lizard was also about the right size to eat mosquitoes, so I set it down in some grass, and it looked like it ran away later. I looked really cool, with a purple tail and black stripes down the back. I have seen larger ones running around here earlier.
