Well, my Fuji … adventure is over.
We didn’t reach the top, it was raining too hard and too cold. I have never been so rained on in my life.
I started out looking like this:
We started climbing at about 2000, in the dark and rain. As we went up the rain got harder, so at a certain point Declan (leader of the trip, director of international admissions for Yamasa, and in charge of the school bar) decided that we would spend the night in the hut at 3250 meters altitude.
The next morning was pretty cool at first, being above the clouds.
(This video shows the best weather we were in the whole time, that morning. Once we started moving we were in that fog/clouds)
Except, we were going down, through those clouds. Eventually we were in the clouds, with mist around us. Then we were in heavy rain again.
If it weren’t for the rain, this would have been an easy climb.
