Second fire festival in as many weeks. Seems like I like festivals…
This one was at Takisanji, 滝山寺, a temple in Okazaki. The festival was very different from last week, this was more of a ceremony. It was an “Oni matsuri”, or Ogre festival, and apparently also has lots of history.
I had to take a shower after I got back, since I had a very strong odour of smoke. Too bad my legs weren’t black from soot…
This time the festival was in Gamagori. I went with my roommate and a few of my friends. We met 4 separate groups of Yamasa students at the festival.
They dragged the floats around town and then through a small part of the ocean.
Then they had some festival stuff at a nearby shrine.
A festival ran by my apartment in Okazaki.
So, I threw my worst lens on my camera and went shooting.
The kids in this mask thing visited houses along the festival route.

Went to a festival in Nagoya: Nagoya Festival
This fountain was across the street from Sakae station. I was taking a picture, and a bird flew over at just the right time.
I went to a festival near Sakae, in Nagoya.
I concentrated on taking fewer, better pictures, and adding a connection to a dancer. The album of pictures is here
Dancer Pictures Inside
Went to a festival in central Okazaki today.
I noticed a bunch of smoke, and saw some kids playing with sparklers. They were lighting them on this bucket full of some kind of fuel.
A bunch of Yamasa students helped pull a cart/float thing for a festival here in Okazaki.
